AQ Mover
Version History
Version 1.0: 2026-09-07: Applies to the AQ Mover mobile application for iOS and Android („the app”), published by Aquacrom Produkt Gyártó és Kereskedelmi Kft.
1. Who we are
The data controller for anything described in this policy is:
● Aquacrom Produkt Gyártó és Kereskedelmi Kft. („Aquacrom Kft.”, „we”) ● Registered seat: Hungary, 9028 Győr, Fehérvári u. 75.
● Company registration number: 08 09 021290
● Tax number: 23147403208
● E-mail: info@aquacrom.eu
● Website: https://aquacrom.eu
This policy covers the app only. Our website has its own privacy notice at https://aquacrom.eu/privacy-aqmover.
2. The short version
During normal use, the app does not transmit personal data to Aquacrom or to any third party. It has no user accounts, analytics, advertising or background data transmission.
The app communicates directly with your Aquacrom pool-cover controller over Bluetooth. Information used by the app is stored locally on your phone or on the controller and is not automatically sent to Aquacrom.
Data leaves your phone only if you actively choose to send a diagnostics package to our support team using a mail or messaging app of your choice. In that case, the information you send, including your e-mail address or other contact details provided with your support request, may be processed by Aquacrom as described in Section 7.
3. What the app does
AQ Mover is the companion app for the Aquacrom pool-cover controller. Over a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) link it lets you open, stop and close the cover, shows the controller’s live readings (air temperature, humidity, battery voltage, cover position), draws charts from the history the controller keeps, manages the 433 MHz hand-held remotes paired to the controller, and adjusts a few controller settings.
4. Data stored on your phone
The app stores three small settings in its private storage on your phone, so that it works conveniently the next time you open it:
What | Why | How to remove it |
The Bluetooth identifier and name of the controller you last connected to (for example „Aquacrom AB12CD34″) | To offer a one-tap reconnect instead of a new scan | „Forget device” in the app’s Settings screen, or uninstall the app |
Your chosen app language | To keep the language you selected | Uninstall the app |
Whether you have acknowledged the one-time safety warning | So the warning is shown only once | Uninstall the app |
Nothing else is written to your phone by the app. These settings never leave the phone. The app cannot read your contacts, photos, files, location or anything outside its own storage.
The Bluetooth pairing keys that secure the link to your controller are created and stored by iOS or Android, not by the app, and are removed when you forget the controller in your phone’s Bluetooth settings.
5. Data stored on your controller
The controller itself keeps a small history in its own memory so the app can draw charts and so our support team can diagnose faults. None of it is sent anywhere by the controller; it has no internet connection either.
● Sensor samples: air temperature, humidity and battery voltage, recorded every five minutes, kept for about six months and then overwritten.
● Cover events: when the cover was opened, closed or stopped and how, kept for the same period.
● Device event log: the last few hundred technical events (Bluetooth connections, remote-control signals, sensor health, motor actions). It records that a phone connected, not which one; it never contains your name, your phone’s identity or the Bluetooth PIN.
● Paired remotes: the identifiers of the hand-held remotes you paired. ● Settings: motor timeouts and similar technical values.
This data is about the controller, not about you. Be aware, though, that a history of when a pool cover opens and closes can hint at when a property is in use. It stays on the controller and on the phone that reads it, and it is protected by the Bluetooth pairing PIN. Anyone who can pair with the controller can read it, so keep the PIN and the controller’s location secure. Support staff can clear the controller’s history for you; the app itself does not upload it.
6. Bluetooth permission
The app asks for Bluetooth permission because it cannot work without it. It scans only for Aquacrom controllers (devices advertising the Aquacrom service) and shows their name and signal strength so you can pick yours. On Android 12 and later the app declares that it does not use Bluetooth scanning to derive your location, and it requests no location permission on either platform. Connecting requires the six-digit PIN printed on your controller; the app never stores or logs that PIN.
7. The diagnostics package (only when you send it)
If you have a problem, the Settings screen offers Send diagnostics. Nothing happens automatically: the app builds a zip file and then opens your phone’s standard share sheet, and you choose where it goes – typically your mail app, addressed to info@aquacrom.eu. You can inspect the zip before sending it. It contains:
● device.json: the controller’s Bluetooth name and address, its clock, uptime, settings, sensor health, and the identifiers of the paired remotes;
● sensor_data.csv: the sensor history described above;
● state_history.csv: the cover-event history described above;
● system_log.txt: the device event log described above.
The package is designed not to contain your name, e-mail address, phone identifier or location. However, controller identifiers and usage history may become personal data when associated with your support request.
When you send the package by e-mail, we receive your e-mail address and any information you include in your message, and our e-mail provider processes the message on our behalf.
● Purpose: to diagnose and fix your controller and to improve the product. ● Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing support you asked for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)), and where you are our customer, the performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)).
● Who sees it: Aquacrom support and engineering staff. We do not sell it or share it with anyone else, other than the service providers that host our e-mail Microsoft 365. ● Retention: until your case is closed and for 24 months afterwards, after which the message and the package are deleted. Extracted, non-identifying technical findings may be kept longer in our engineering records.
8. What we do not do
The app has no user accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no tracking, no cookies, and no network connection of any kind. It does not use your camera,
microphone, location, contacts, photos or files. We do not receive any information about how you use the app.
9. Demo mode
„Try demo mode” on the welcome screen simulates a controller entirely on your phone. Demo data is invented and nothing is stored or sent.
10. Links and app stores
The app contains a link to aquacrom.eu, which opens in your browser and is covered by the website’s own privacy notice. Apple and Google may show us aggregated, anonymous statistics about downloads and crashes if you have opted in to sharing them with developers in your phone’s settings; those are governed by Apple’s and Google’s privacy policies, not ours.
11. Children
The app controls motorised equipment and is intended for adults responsible for a pool installation. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly process children’s data.
12. Security
The Bluetooth link between the app and the controller is encrypted after PIN pairing. The app keeps its settings in storage that other apps on your phone cannot read. We never transmit your data, so there is no server holding it. The residual risk is physical: whoever has your unlocked phone or can pair with your controller can operate the cover and read its history.
13. Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict the personal data we hold about you, object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and receive a copy of data you gave us. In practice, the only personal data we can hold is what you sent us in a support request; everything else lives only on your own phone and controller, where you control it directly (see sections 4 and 5).
Write to info@aquacrom.eu or to the postal address above. We answer within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer you may complain to the Hungarian supervisory authority, the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH), 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9–11, https://naih.hu, or to the authority of your own EU country.
14. Changes
We will update this page when the app’s behaviour changes. The version and date at the top tell you which edition you are reading; material changes will also be mentioned in the app’s release notes.
